Download our valentines calender to help your child remember to brush twice a day and clean between your teeth daily.
Four ADA recommendations for a healthy mouth
- Your child should use a soft toothbrush and brush 2 times a day.
- Make sure your child’s toothbrush fits in his or her mouth and that they can reach each tooth.
- Every 3 or 4 months replace your child’s toothbrush.
- Children should use ADA accepted toothpaste with fluoride
Proper brushing techniques are as follows:
1.
Angle your toothbrush at 45 degrees angled to the gums. Using tooth wide gentle strokes move the brush back and forth.
2.
Brush all surfaces of each tooth, start with the outer surfaces, then the inner surfaces, and finally the chewing surfaces of the teeth.
3.
Clean the inside surface of each tooth by vertically tilting the toothbrush and cleaning the inside surfaces of the front teeth.
4.
Brush your tongue to remove bacteria and keep your breath fresh.
